Abstract
This article examines the current problems of courtyard areas of mid-rise multi-apartment residential buildings, the reconstruction of courtyard spaces. For the article, a detailed analysis of the existing practice in this direction was carried out, the requests and needs of the population were analyzed, and the general problems of courtyard spaces and their functional planning organization were identified. Reconstruction of courtyards is an important topical issue. Renovation is a way to solve the problems that residents of yard spaces have to face every day that do not meet their needs. The main focus of the article is on these issues. By the example of a thorough analysis of the courtyard, the need to reconstruct courtyards and thereby create a new life for them is convincingly proved.
